On July 11th Christopher Lee and his girlfriend Jamie Tinaglia decided to go on a 17 mile (each way) bike ride to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. This was something they had been talking about doing when summer came around. Last summer came and went so this summer they were determined to do it. They started out at 10am down by Superdawg and rode for 2 hours. Only stopping for water once and Christopher riding the last thirteen miles on a flat tire! They arrived at the Chicago Botanic Gardens and got some lunch. Over lunch Chris started talking about marriage and why he did NOT want to get married…explaining that very few of his friends were engaged. Jamie thought “Oh man… I need to re-analyze this.” Chris was just throwing her off. Jamie and Chris then wandered to the Information Desk, and she was frustrated by the fact that Chris would inquire about hosting a wedding at the Botanic Gardens after their lunch time discussion. They then proceeded to stroll around some flowery gardens and walked into a tropical atrium. In the atrium, they attempted to take some pictures. Struggling, and wanting to get a great picture a bypasser questioned if she might take a picture. At this Christopher reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring. Christopher got down on one knee, and as she took a picture, he asked “Jamie, will you Marry Me?” Surprised and overwhelmed, Jamie was speechless. After a moment of shock, the woman cut the silence and said “You need to answer.” Jamie jumped up throwing her arms around Chris and yelling “Yes!” Everyone in the garden began applauding. Two weeks later and Jamie is still in shock. The wedding plans have only begun but they are hoping to wed next summer.
